Frigo Nieuw-Vennep shoots off like new in 2025

With a revamped office and a new WMS system, Frigo Nieuw-Vennep is off to an energetic start in 2025.

From 2025, the entire Frigo Group hopes to reap the benefits of the investments made last year. ‘An indoor renovation has given the office part of the cold store in Nieuw-Vennep an enormous boost,’ explains Joost van Elderen. ‘Renewal of equipment and office furniture, among other things, has been accompanied by an expansion of the office area by 90 square metres. Divided over two floors, we now have much more space as a result. Moreover, we have been able to fulfil almost all the wishes of ourselves and our employees.’

Relief
During a tour of the new office area, Van Elderen shows the canteen, the reception area, the call room, the server room, the meeting room, the archive room, the warehouse and the new wash and shower room for truck drivers, among others. ‘For months during the renovation, office work took place in two portacabins placed outside on the concrete. This was obviously inconvenient, but precisely because of this, the new office was a relief from day one. Just before Christmas, we were able to move into our new workstations and it felt good right away. The space, the atmosphere, the facilities… The new office enables us to serve our customers even better and more efficiently, as a logistics service provider in frozen food.’

Real team effort
Van Elderen is proud of all Frigo employees, who he says showed their most flexible and decisive side during the renovation and move. ‘It really has been a team effort. That certainly also applies to the new Warehouse Management System (WMS) Boltrics, which we implemented at the end of 2024 after a long preparation period. Customers have to get used to the new customer portal it comes with, but that is a matter of time. The new, Microsoft-based WMS system fits perfectly with the forward-looking and efficient frozen food logistics service provider that the Frigo Group wants to be. I am sure that, thanks to this new software, we are ready for the future.’

Connecting the dots
The fact that the Frigo Group is energetically out of the starting blocks in 2025 thanks to the innovations does not mean that Van Elderen can sit back. ‘I never do that anyway,’ he laughs. ‘The next few weeks at Frigo Group Transport (FGT) in Geldermalsen will be dominated by the implementation of a new Transport Management System (TMS), which fits perfectly with Frigo Nieuw-Vennep’s new state-of-the-art WMS system.’
In the form of new planters and wall decorations, among other things, some ‘finishing touches’ also need to be added to Frigo Nieuw-Vennep’s new office. Van Elderen: ‘It will be not only a modern and efficient, but also a green, healthy and beautiful working environment for our employees.’ That the Frigo Group is a family business that not only has an eye for the future but also for the past, he says, can be clearly seen in the meeting room soon. ‘Not only the meeting table, but also the chairs, clock and paintings come from the home of Hein van Elderen, the company’s founder who died in 2022.’
