Nine new trucks for Frigo Group Transport
For fans of modern trucks, Saturday 26 September was a feast on the highways and provincial roads in the middle of the country: in a long column, nine brand new DAF XF 480 Super Space Cab trucks drove from truck dealer Van Tilburg-Bastianen in Tiel to the branches of Frigo Group in Geldermalsen and Nieuw-Vennep.
Just like the drivers, Marco van Acquoij, Operations Director of Frigo Group Transport, is happy with the rejuvenation and sustainability of the fleet, which consists of 24 trucks in total. “Thanks to this investment in the road fleet, we are even better prepared for the future. We can literally and figuratively get on with it for years to come.
And this in a year that is exciting by ‘corona’, says Frigo Group Managing Director Margreet van Elderen. “For us too, 2020 will certainly not go down in the books as ‘business as usual’. By investing so heavily anyway, we are showing that we are not afraid of challenges and believe in Frigo Group Transport as an integral part of the Frigo Group.”
Conditioned transport
The new trucks will be used partly for conditioned transport to and from Frigo Nieuw-Vennep’s cold store, which also forms part of the Frigo Group, and partly for transport for third parties. With Frigo Group Logistics as an independent ‘Third Party Logistics Provider’, steel and machines have become transport specialities in addition to frozen goods. Frigo Group Transport maintains daily transport links with France (and in particular the Paris, Rouen and Lyon regions).
